Cat Services

Comprehensive Feline Veterinary Care

Your cat always puts a smile on your face, whether it’s curled up on your lap or taking a drink from the bathroom faucet. The best way to ensure that both you and your cat keep smiling is to keep your cat healthy with the help of Seafair Animal Clinic’s veterinary team.

The veterinarians at Seafair have cared for thousands of cats over the years. This experience allows us to develop wellness plans tailored to the individual needs of your cat. Your cat will receive quality, comprehensive veterinary care, ensuring a happy and healthy life for your cat and peace of mind for you. Seafair Animal Clinic offers a variety of veterinary services for your feline companion, including nutrition information, vaccinations, spay and neuter procedures, parasite control, and regular checkups.

Feline Nutrition

Proper nutrition is just as important for your cat as it is for you, and understanding your cat’s nutrition requirements is a major factor in maintaining good health and preventing disease. A healthy diet aids digestion, promotes healthy skin and a luxurious coat, reduces obesity related medical conditions, and improves your cat’s immune system. As cats age and change, so do their nutrition requirements. Taking into consideration factors such as age, weight, and allergies, the veterinarians at Seafair can help you develop a healthy eating plan for your cat.

Many years of experience have led us to select Royal Canin and Hill’s Prescription Diets as our preferred cat foods.

Disease Prevention

Vaccinations are your cat’s foundation for healthy living. Vaccinations protect your cat from a number of harmful and potentially fatal viruses. Typically, your kitten will receive 3 sets of vaccinations, spread one month apart. Because this timeline can vary between kittens, the veterinarians at Seafair will create a vaccination schedule that best fits your kitten’s needs. In addition, we will provide you with an ongoing booster routine, so your cat will stay protected throughout its life.

Spay or Neuter Procedures

At Seafair, we highly recommend spaying or neutering your cat. Besides preventing unwanted litters and overpopulation, sterilization provides many health and behavioural benefits. Sterilization reduces the risk of both mammary and prostate cancer, as well as roaming behaviour and territory marking. Sterilized kittens tend to be calmer and gentler. We typically recommend spaying or neutering your kitten at four to six months of age.

Sterilization at Seafair is a safe and thorough procedure. We recommend your cat have pre-surgical blood work in order to identify any potential risks. This will determine whether general anesthesia is safe for your cat. We use human-quality anesthetics and many safety measures comparable to those at human hospitals to ensure a successful operation and smooth recovery. The procedure requires an all-day hospital stay, so we can provide the best care for your cat.

Parasite Protection

Kittens are often born with internal parasites. These parasites come in many varieties and present with varying symptoms, such as diarrhea and loss of energy. Through a fecal exam, the veterinarians at Seafair can determine which parasites are present and prescribe treatment accordingly. Because adult cats are also susceptible to parasites, it is important to maintain ongoing preventative care throughout your cat’s life. Internal parasites can also be spread to you and your family. Our job at Seafair is to keep you, your feline companion, and your family safe.

Checkup Time

Your cat should receive regular health checkups, just like you should. Routine checkups allow the veterinarians at Seafair to prevent and detect illnesses and to maintain your cat’s overall good health. Routine checkups are particularly important for cats, as they age approximately much faster than humans and often conceal pain and illness.

At Seafair, we believe regular checkups are essential for maintaining the health of your cat. Our veterinarians would love to see your cat for a comprehensive physical exam every six to twelve months in order to prevent and identify any health concerns.
